PIQUILLO BAR

RESTAURANT

On Calle Cuenca in Valencia, a new place to be is coming. The restaurant Piquillo brings a contemporary perspective to neighbourhood bar culture. FOS translates this idea into the existing space through colour and bespoke furniture, connecting the brand’s identity with the everyday rituals of gathering, sharing and staying a little longer.

A mid-morning meal, a beer after work, a conversation that stretches around a table. Piquillo begins with the familiar rituals that make a bar part of neighbourhood life. Its interior provides a setting for them: an approachable, recognisable space that accommodates different moments throughout the day.

The intervention works within an existing 166 m² premises, retaining its overall layout. The transformation focuses on the elements that establish its new identity: surface treatments, pops of colour and furniture. Working with what is already there directs attention towards precise decisions that change how the space is experienced as a whole.

The brand’s green creates continuity between the façade and the interior, making Piquillo recognisable from the street. Its presence brings a central aspect of the visual identity into the space: a contemporary interpretation of the familiar graphic language of traditional bars.

The relationship between branding and interior design also develops through geometry. Graphic elements become references for bespoke pieces designed specifically for Piquillo. Identity takes on scale, volume and an everyday purpose.

A small, everyday reference becomes one of the project’s distinctive pieces. Bespoke design allows the brand to become part of the experience of the place, present in the simple act of taking a seat and setting down a plate.

Welcome Area & Multipurpose Space

Piquillo offers a contemporary way to nurture neighbourhood life. An interior with its own identity, designed to accommodate food and conversation, and to grow more familiar with every visit.

The bespoke table designed by FOS takes its cue from the diamond motif within Piquillo’s visual identity. Seen in plan, its outline reinterprets that geometry, translating a graphic element into a piece of furniture around which people gather and share food.

The reference also carries a connection to bar culture: the diamond pattern developed by the branding studio originates in the printed designs of traditional paper napkins. The table extends that journey, returning the symbol to its original setting as a functional object.
